Why belong to GLASS? That’s a fair question before you pay $15.00 to the club for its annual dues fee. There are many reasons but all will not probably apply to one individual. Maybe you want to meet others that share the same interest that you have, you want to make some new contacts in the specific area of flying that you are interested in, you want to be exposed for the first time to a specific skill (building, flying gliders, flying electric powered planes, participation in competition events or just flying for fun - to just name a few). Another good reason is that you might not have honed building skills and you want to be able to contact someone that can help you. In addition, you might want a place to fly (the GLASS field), or maybe you want to be able to go to fly and not have to purchase and haul all the needed launch equipment with you every time you go to the field (they are in the shed). All of these are good reasons you should consider joining the Greater Lansing Area Soaring Society.
No matter what your reason is, you will most likely benefit by joining GLASS. Don’t hesitate to contact any of the members listed under Members and ask them questions. You will be welcomed with open arms by a good group.
Items in the shed for your use: batteries (that are charged by the solar cell on the shed), Hi_Starts (for medium to heavy gliders), chairs, tables, winches, line retrivers, shelter tent, turn arounds with necessary stakes and a golf cart for you to use on the field.
